Introduction

Hello and welcome to my personal website. If you've reached this place, there is a high probability that you already know my name! However, to make sure I play my part in upholding social convention, I'll formally introduce myself. I'm Anupriya and the picture on the top right of the screen is my brain as scanned by a GE 3T MRI Scanner.

I read Neuroscience at the University of Oxford on an academic scholarship. Prior to this I combined my studies in India with the role of a Feature Writer/Correspondent at The Times of India. I was also Writer and Sub Editor at RSJ, an entertainment monthly covering entertainment in South Asia.

I'm now based in London and work in Investment Banking.

Academic Interests

I investigated the relationship between eye movements (and deficits therein) and reading ability in poor readers/subjects diagnosed with dyslexia, for one of my dissertations. I have also studied the dissociation of function within the hippocampus and specifically how species typical behaviours are mediated by the dorsal hippocampus in C57BL/6J.

I am extremely interested in the Neuroanatomical correlates of Depression and have examined cognitive deficits that characterise Major depression for my Master’s dissertation titled Cognitive and Neuropsychological Deficits in Depression: Role of the Prefrontal Cortex (I was awarded distinction for the project).

Photography

My imaging needs are currently fulfilled by a Nikon D3100, Nikon D40, Canon EOS 1100 and the excellent iPhone 6. You can find some representative images on my photostream on Flickr or on Instagram.
